About Local Siding Network

Local Siding Network is a free referral service for homeowners who want new siding or need to replace worn, damaged or outdated siding. We are not a contractor and do not install siding ourselves. When you call, a partner call center talks with you about your home and your project and connects you with an independent siding contractor who serves your ZIP code. You decide whether to hire them; you are never obligated to.

How we are paid

The service is free for homeowners. Contractors or our call center partner may pay a fee for referrals. That fee does not change what you pay the contractor, and it does not influence the information in our guides. We do not publish reviews, ratings or testimonials of contractors, and we do not claim that any contractor has been screened or certified by us. Always check a contractor’s license or registration and insurance yourself – our region pages explain how in each state.

How we research our content

  • Primary sources first. Storm and climate facts come from the National Weather Service, NOAA and the National Hurricane Center; housing and population figures from the U.S. Census Bureau and city or county planning documents; building and permit rules from state codes and local building departments; and licensing rules from the agencies that issue the licenses, such as the Pennsylvania Attorney General, the Maryland Home Improvement Commission or Michigan’s LARA.
  • Published cost data, clearly labeled. Prices come from published sources such as the Cost vs. Value Report, HomeAdvisor, Angi, Fixr and This Old House. We name the source next to each figure and present it as orientation, never as a quote. Your contractor measures your home and sets the price.
  • Sources on the page. Our region pages and guides list their sources at the end, so you can check them yourself.
  • Dates. Each guide shows when it was last updated. We review cost figures and rules regularly, because they change.
  • Plain language, no pressure. We explain when a repair is enough, when replacement makes sense and what to watch out for, including storm-chaser scams, asbestos-cement shingles and lead paint on older homes.

What we help with

Our partner contractors focus on siding installation and full or partial siding replacement – vinyl, insulated vinyl, fiber cement and engineered wood – including storm-damaged siding. For a single loose panel or a small patch, a local handyman is usually the better fit.

Corrections

If you find an error or an outdated figure, please email hello@localsidingnetwork.com. We check every report against the original source and update the page.
